Be hypnoTHAIzed: Day 2
Thursday, April 19, 2012, < 11:59 AM
Day Two

We were awakened by the sound of the phone. I picked it up and I heard “Wek ap kor, wek ap kor.” At first I didn’t get it, and I was still half asleep so I quickly responded “Ha?”. And then he repeated it, and fortunately I got it so I thanked him, woke my roommate, took a shower and went down to have our breakfast. We were overwhelmed with the number of foods to choose from. From Thai food to bacon and cereals, we really had a hard time choosing what to eat. After eating, uncle Pete said we need to move quickly so that we can go to the floating market early.

Psyched!

We needed to ride a long tail speed boat to go to Damnern Saduak Floating Market. It took us about 20 minutes to get there. We took lots of pictures and videos while we’re inside the boat. When we got there, I was astonished because I used to it on TV and now, I finally got to be there. We were given 100B for us to buy snacks or anything we want. I went on a food trip with my friends. We bought sticky rice with mango (the best!), the big chips that tasted like ice cream cone, their version of our fishball and wantons, and so much more. We then left the floating market and went to Supatra River House to have our lunch. I didn’t get to appreciate the food there though. I only ate noodle soup and their spicy som tam.

Enjoying the boat ride!

Floating Market! (FINALLY. After 4-5 years *_*)

There were some Thai people who actually lived near the floating market.

When we went inside the Gems Gallery, I became an instant fan of jewelries. Their handmade products were really beautiful. I bought pearl earrings with gold for my grandmother worth 300B. There were really expensive ones like a good earrings can amount to 5000B. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to attend the Sunday Mass because it was already late and we need to go to Siam Paragon to have our dinner at the Foodcourt. I ordered roasted duck and chicken teriyaki. It was okay but the Pad Thai that my friend Pio ordered was really delicious. We explored the mall and then went to MBK Mall. Siam Paragon is like the country’s version of Powerplant while MBK is like our 168 mall. You can find really cheap products there. Unfortunately for us, we got lost inside and we were already panicking because we cannot be late and miss the flight. Luckily, we found our way out.

I don't know if she's a girl or a dude though :|. Still pretty :)

Finally, we arrived on time. We said our goodbyes to Uncle Pete and he said that we will still see him when we went back to Bangkok. Sawatdee kaa Chiangmai! We checked in at Royal Princess Hotel.
