Be hypnoTHAIzed: Day 3

Day 3

In the original itinerary, we would have arrived at the hotel in the morning but since we boarded a plane via Thai Airways, we enjoyed a good sleep and woke up at around 8:30am. The usual, we went down to eat breakfast and prepared for Doi Suthep Temple.

We went to the palace using “cable car” which is just like an ordinary elevator. It was smaller compared to the Grand Palace but when we went there, we saw several monks walking around. The tour guide said it is forbidden for the women to touch the monks because they are considered sacred. So we tried our best to be careful enough not to get too close to them. The temple itself was magnificent. And all I can do was to take photos because I really appreciated their religious beliefs. What made me really happy was when we saw a really cute boy running around the temple. We also took pictures of him.

We then proceeded to a certain place where in we talked about the Traditional Thai Massage of the north. We were excited because we’re going to experience THE authentic Thai massage. There were six of us in the room and the masseuses were entertained with our loud voices. We also enjoyed and felt that soothing feeling of having a massage. I didn’t realize I fell asleep and I woke up with that renewed inner-self kind of feeling. After having our massage, we then went to a local restaurant to eat dinner. We enjoyed the dinner and we had fun because it is not your usual kind of dinner. There is a platform, tv and a karaoke. Each table had their representative and it was Cha in our class. It was raining that night so we didn’t have the chance to release the floating paper lanterns. We returned to our hotel and had a good rest.

Authentic Thai Massage! Yii-huh!
